The aim:

To create human art, merge musically and socially with poetry.

Start solo, invite and blend the unknown, then finish together.

To document the process.

A poet in an unfamiliar city invites random unknown musicians beyond genres to collaborate..

To begin with the bare bones, simply the gesticulated poetry performance which in itself is unique, topical and entertaining. Inviting people to experience it in it’s raw form as a basis for comparison. And then, invite the unknown! Set the stage and experiment across a number of days to enable broad participation. Then to return to the first location and exhibit the result..

Below is a taste of the first event, followed by a couple from the last. More vids from the event on the WhatWashesUP stages pages.

The first performance was solo, bare bones poetry @ Brunswick Street Gallery 17/4. Then invited Melbourne musicians to jam, seeking a fusion beyond genres @ In.cube8r Gallery across two days, 22nd & 24th. Peaking with an exhibition jam on the 27th back @ BSG, migrating through its various gallery zones. The aim was to document the process and put on the net, with links to collaborators to further feed the symbiosis. 8 hours worth of jamming was captured. c;

HUGE THANKS to BSG and In.cube8r galleries, and especially to musicians Elena Gonzalez and David Kirk who as musicians fully embraced the project and nurtured it through its stages!
